MIDAS Alliance announces a pilot proposal combining the Government’s Verify programme with Payments strong authentication

At yesterdays Open Identity Exchange OIX UK meeting a representative of the MIDAS Alliance announced that they would be working with the Government to help develop a pilot that combines payments applications with their identity assurance programme (Verify).

As noted in their initial standards’ scoping, the MIDAS Alliance believes that in order to create a pilot that will be of use in the Governments Verify programme it is essential to have payments as part of the solution. This is particularly relevant within the interplay between identity assurance (Verify) and SecuRePay’s strong authentication requirements (PSD2).

As this is a significant step in the development of the MIDAS Alliance going forward it becomes even more important to get as many different organisations from all sectors to get together at our next public meeting to develop both an outline for the pilot as well as developing the scope for the wider MIDAS Alliance standard.

The next MIDAS Alliance meeting is to now to be held at a Central London venue on the 29th September 2015 and will look at developing the scope for this short pilot as well as a strawman for the scope for the standard.

This is a must attend event.
